1. Influence of welding current

2. Influence of welding time

In order to ensure the nugget size and solder joint strength, welding time and welding current can complement each other within a certain limit. In order to obtain solder joints with a certain strength, you can use large current and short time (strong condition, also known as strong standard), or you can use small current and long time (weak condition, also known as weak standard). The choice of strong or weak conditions depends on the function of the metal, its thickness and the power of the welding machine used. However, there are still upper and lower limits for the current and time required for metals with different properties and thicknesses. Beyond this limit, a qualified nugget will not be formed.

3. Influence of electrode pressure

The electrode pressure has a significant impact on the total resistance R between the two electrodes. As the electrode pressure increases, R significantly decreases. Although the welding current increases slightly at this time, it cannot affect the reduction in heat production caused by the reduction in R. Therefore, the strength of the solder joint always decreases as the electrode pressure increases. While increasing the electrode pressure, increase the welding current or lengthen the welding time to compensate for the effect of reduced resistance and keep the strength of the solder joint constant. The use of this welding condition will help improve the stability of the solder joint strength. If the electrode pressure is too small, it will cause spatter and reduce the strength of the solder joint.

4. Influence of the function of electrode raw materials

Since the contact area of ​​the electrode determines the current density, the resistivity and thermal conductivity of the electrode material are related to the generation and dissipation of heat, so the form and material of the electrode have a significant impact on the formation of nuggets.
