The energy storage spot welding machine has several stages during welding.

What are the pre-pressure time, pressure time, and holding pressure time? What are the differences and their corresponding roles? Let’s dive into the details:

Pre-pressure time refers to the time required for the set electrode to press down to contact the workpiece and stabilize the pressure. This time can be set, but if it is set too short, the electrode may discharge in the air, causing detachment, or insufficient time may result in unstable pressure and early splashing. Setting the time too long will affect production efficiency. The specific value depends on the installation distance of the upper electrode and the descending speed of the machine head.

Pressure time: In general, the entire process of applying pressure is the pressure time, including pre-pressure time. However, more often, people only refer to the pressure time during welding discharge, which can be distinguished from pre-pressure time and holding pressure time. If only referring to the pressure time during welding discharge, then this pressure time is consistent with the welding discharge time. Pre-pressure, pressure discharge, plus holding pressure time after discharge, complete the entire pressure process. The length of the pressure time should be determined by the structure of the workpiece and the welding effect requirements, which is the setting of welding parameters.

Holding pressure time: After the welding discharge of the welding machine ends, theoretically, it is necessary to ensure that the molten metal undergoes recooling and recrystallization under a certain pressure to prevent loose weld structure or other defects.
