Measures to avoid splashing in intermediate frequency spot welding machines


During the welding process of intermediate frequency spot welding machines, many welders experience splashing during operation. According to a foreign literature, when a large current is passed through a short circuit bridge, the bridge will overheat and explode, resulting in splashing.

Its energy accumulates between 100-150 us before the explosion, and this explosive force throws the molten metal droplets into all directions, often producing large particle splashes that adhere to the surface of the workpiece and are difficult to remove, even damaging the surface smoothness of the workpiece.

Precautions to avoid splashing:

1. Pay attention to cleaning the welding machine before and after daily operation, and clean the workbench and welding materials after each operation.

2. During the welding process, attention should be paid to preloading, and increasing the preheating current can be used to slow down the heating speed.

3. The uneven distribution of pressure on the contact surface between the welding machine and the welded object leads to local high density, resulting in early melting and splashing of the welded object.
