Before operating a mid-frequency spot welding machine, check if the equipment is running normally. After powering on, observe for any abnormal sounds; if none, it indicates that the equipment functions properly. Check if the electrodes of the welding machine are on the same horizontal plane; if there is oxidation, replace the electrodes with new ones.
Ensure that the cooling water is not blocked. The purpose of the cooling water is to cool down the electrodes, secondary circuits, transformers, thyristors, rectifiers, etc. Before and after use, discharge the cooling water without any blockage.
Inspect the diameter of the electrodes. The electrode head is the part where the electrode contacts the workpiece for welding. The working diameter of this contact part in the welding process parameters refers to the diameter of the head. The performance and shape of the head material have a significant impact on the strength and surface condition of the weld.
Check the working condition of the hydraulic system. Check if the working pressure meets the requirements by using a pressure gauge for the hydraulic system. Pay special attention to whether the hydraulic system’s unloading is normal.
Inspect the operation program control stroke switch of the welding machine. Check if there are any changes or loosening in the position of the stroke switch. Ensure that no water or oil leaks into it; if any, clear it immediately to avoid misoperation. Before and after daily use, inspect all sliding working parts and clean the surface from oil stains.
