Adjusting the Specification of Mid-Frequency Spot Welding


When using a mid-frequency spot welding machine to weld different workpieces, adjustments should be made to the peak welding current, energization time, and welding pressure. Additionally, it’s important to select electrode materials and electrode dimensions based on the workpiece structure, material properties, and thickness.

Adjustment of Peak Welding Current:

By changing the turns ratio of the welding transformer, reducing the primary coil increases the peak current, although the energization time shortens, keeping the total output energy nearly constant. It can be observed that the turns ratio of the welding transformer can adjust the peak welding current, energization time, and energy level.

Selection of Pressure and Electrode Tip Size:

The selection of electrode pressure and electrode tip size depends on the workpiece material, strength requirements, and weld size. Initially, you can choose based on the data of conventional AC spot welding machines, and then adjust during welding practice to find the optimal welding parameters. Due to the strict specifications of welding, changes in pressure or electrode tip size have a more significant impact on welding quality compared to conventional AC welding machines.
