What is the role of the controller in a medium frequency spot welding machine?

The controller of a medium frequency spot welding machine is responsible for controlling, monitoring, and detecting the welding process. The guiding parts use special materials with low friction, and the electromagnetic valve is directly connected to the cylinder, which accelerates the response speed, increases the spot welding speed, and reduces air flow loss, resulting in long service life and low noise.

Depending on the requirements of the welding process, the controller of the medium frequency spot welding machine can also incorporate other functions. For example, when spot welding or projection welding certain special metals, it may be desirable to have preheating, welding, tempering, and other electrical pulses during the welding cycle, thus requiring a modulator to adjust the pulses for preheating, welding, and tempering.

To prevent splashing at the beginning of welding, the welding pulse also has current increment control, gradually increasing the welding current from a smaller value to the set value. Some welding machines also have automatic compensation devices for network voltage or various types of closed-loop control to ensure stable heat output or stable welding nugget quality.

When several welding machines are used simultaneously, interlock control or group control can be performed. When necessary, only one spot welding machine is powered for welding at the same time to avoid excessive reduction of network voltage and affecting welding quality, among other issues: leo@agerawelder.com
