Energy storage welding machines are widely used in many factories due to their energy-saving and efficient features, minimal impact on the power grid, power-saving capabilities, stable output voltage, good consistency, firm welding, no discoloration of weld points, saving on grinding processes, and high efficiency. However, many manufacturers are unaware of their safety operating procedures. Below, I’ll introduce them:
Pre-operation inspection:
Check for loose bolts in all parts, ensure protective covers are in good condition, and ground the grounding wire properly. Otherwise, it should not be used.
The power cord must be intact without damage or entanglement.
Check if instruments and meters are intact. If damaged, repair or replace them promptly.
Set the power and lighting switches to the “off” position, the welding switch to “discharge,” and turn the voltage regulator knob to the minimum (counterclockwise to the end).
Operating procedure:
Turn on the “power” switch; the indicator light should illuminate.
Move the welding switch from “discharge” to “welding.” The voltage meter should indicate. Rotate the “voltage” knob clockwise to increase the charging voltage. If you need to reduce the charging voltage, move the switch from “welding” to “discharge” and turn the “voltage” knob counterclockwise. When the pointer of the voltage meter drops to the required voltage, move the welding switch back to “welding” and readjust the “voltage” knob to the desired voltage.
Place the workpiece between the two electrodes and step on the pedal to start welding.
Safety measures:
Cut off the power supply after use, and the “welding” switch must be set to the “discharge” position.
Only open the machine box for repair after ensuring that the capacitors are truly discharged.
Precautions:
Different materials and workpieces must undergo trial welding to select different charging voltages and electrode pressures to determine the welding specifications for the workpiece before normal production can proceed.
After normal use of the welder for a period of time, the wiring positions of the primary two taps of the welding transformer should be regularly changed to prevent a decrease in the output power of the transformer due to DC magnetization.
