As we all know, it’s normal for various malfunctions to occur in medium frequency spot welding machines after prolonged mechanical use. However, some users may not know how to analyze the causes of these malfunctions and how to deal with them. Here, our maintenance technicians will give you a detailed explanation of common malfunction analysis and troubleshooting methods:
Machine overheating:
Check if there is any insulation resistance between the electrode holder and the body, which may cause a local short circuit.
Check if the water pressure, flow rate, and supply water temperature are appropriate and if there is any blockage in the water system.
Welding spatter:
Check if there is oxidation on the electrode head, if the welding workpiece surface is poorly contacted, if the welding machine adjustment switch is set too high, if the electrode pressure is too small, and if the welding degree of the spot welding machine is abnormal.
No response when pressing the foot pedal switch:
The foot pedal switch may be damaged or the wiring may be loose, the solenoid valve coil may be damaged, or there may be a problem with the circuit board switch input circuit.
Foot pedal switch pressed, solenoid valve coil activates, but the cylinder does not move:
The internal parts of the solenoid valve may be too dirty, the air holes may be blocked, or the valve core may be stuck, and the sealing parts of the cylinder piston may be damaged.
Insufficient strength of welded workpieces:
Check if the electrode pressure is too small, if the electrode rod is securely fastened, if there is severe oxidation between the electrode rod and the electrode arm, if the electrode head cross-section has increased due to dry grinding, resulting in reduced welding energy. Insufficient electrode pressure or loose electrode rods may cause this issue.
