Medium frequency spot welding machine is a type of welding equipment that utilizes the principle of resistance heating for welding. It involves assembling the workpieces into lap joints and clamping them between two cylindrical electrodes. The welding method relies on resistance heating to melt the base metal and form the weld points.
The process of spot welding involves opening the cooling water, cleaning the surface of the workpieces, assembling them accurately, inserting them between the upper and lower electrodes, applying pressure to ensure good contact, passing current to heat the contacting surfaces of the two workpieces, locally melting them to form a nugget. After cutting off the power supply, maintaining pressure allows the nugget to cool and solidify under pressure, forming the weld point. Then, the pressure is removed, and the workpiece is taken out.
Spot welding process parameters such as welding current, electrode pressure, current duration, and electrode working surface size have a significant impact on welding quality.
