The welding parameters of intermediate frequency spot welding machines are usually selected based on the material and thickness of the workpiece. Determine the shape and size of the end face of the electrode for the intermediate frequency spot welding machine, and then preliminarily select the electrode pressure, welding current, and energization time.

Medium frequency spot welding machines are generally divided into hard specifications and soft specifications. The hard specifications are high current+short time, while the soft specifications are low current+long time.

Start the experiment with a smaller current, gradually increase the current until sputtering occurs, then reduce the current appropriately to no sputtering, check whether the tensile and shear strength of a single point, the diameter and depth of the melt nucleus meet the requirements, and adjust the current or welding time appropriately until the requirements are met.

Therefore, as the thickness of the plate increases, it is necessary to increase the current. The way to increase the current is usually by adjusting the voltage (when the resistance is constant, the higher the voltage, the greater the current), or by increasing the power on time under a certain current state, which can also increase the heat input and achieve good welding results.
